Senior Technical Writer

 Who We Want 

We are looking for a special person, a senior technical writer who loves talking with engineers, understanding business problems, finding opportunities, digging into technology and crafting content. You will be writing and visualizing multiple types of content including white papers, blogs, vignettes, standards, policies, procedures and web sites for internal and external use.

In this role, you will work on more than just documentation; you will work closely with engineering teams to develop working examples and contribute to both upstream documentation and projects written material. You'll participate in customer feedback programs to ensure customer relevancy of our content. As a Senior Technical Writer, you'll also devote time for researching and understanding our solutions as well as related trends. You'll create the feature documentation, user guides, and premium content to accompany ICLegend's offerings, made available online through our customer portal. You will collaborate with developers, engineers, and other subject matter experts to create content that helps our customers successfully use our offerings and solutions.

 What You Will Do 

• You will translate content from the words of a specialist into something contextually relevant for the intended audience. Achieve the balance of words and visualization to best convey the message.

You will develop, write, edit and revise product Instructions For Use (IFUs) that provide instructions and information detailing product features, procedures for handling, maintenance, etc.

Actively participates in new product development meetings to provide insights on best quality outcomes for instructional material strategies and resolve related challenges

Work closely with engineering project teams, support teams, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high quality documentation for upcoming releases and ensure the discoverability and accuracy of the content.

Engage and collaborate with customer feedback programs to address content gaps, respond to direct customer feedback, and promote continuous improvement of the documentation experience

Keep up to date on changes of our offerings, customer use cases, and support issues

Lead, recommend and deliver a content and communication strategy for the organization. Partner with the counterparts across ICLegend to align with and influence the broader content strategy and technical writing practice

Organizes IFU content and completes writing assignments according to established guidelines for order, content, clarity, conciseness, format, style and terminology

Conceptualizes (and may procure) graphical elements (tables, charts, illustrations, etc.) that support instructional information

Collaborate with label/marking designers in functional area to align label/marking and IFU content

Educate colleagues and develop tech writing as a core technical practice across our organization

Master the use of our internal documentation toolchain including the publishing platform and issue tracking tools

Effectively manage documentation projects and deliver customer focused documentation


 What You Need 

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, business, technical writing, or a related discipline

4~7+ years of technical writing experience, at least 2 of which is specific to IC industry

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office tools and Windchill, preferred

Working knowledge of Firmware, RF, Radar, and Sensor preferred

Knowledge of printing and graphic reproduction practices, preferred

Knowledge of XML publishing, preferred

A technical storyteller that focuses on not just how, but why and when.

A clear and friendly writing style that produces high quality, professional artifacts.

A passion for excellent content and a strong point of view as to how technical writing influences the customer and employee experience.

Ability to collaborate with remote team, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments

Experience with agile and comfort with rapid iteration and fast delivery

Experience with modular or topic-based documentation

Ability to read, write, and compile technical documents, including feature descriptions, customer use cases, and release notes using industry best practices

Experience in writing clear and concise procedural documentation for a technical audience
